Dr. Doan Y Dao, MD, serves as Assistant Professor of Medicine and Director at the Center of Excellence for Liver Disease in Vietnam (COE), Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Within his role at the COE, Dr. Dao leads initiatives aimed at informing and guiding comprehensive multidimensional public health research and response strategies to tackle the rising, urgent, and substantial disease burden attributed to liver cancer caused by chronic hepatitis B and C in Vietnam.
Dr. Dao obtained his Medical Degree, followed by post-graduate training in Internal Medicine, as well as Gastroenterology & Hepatology, at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW), Dallas, Texas, USA. During his tenure at UTSW, Dr. Dao was a member of the Physician Scientist Training Program (PSTP). PSTP a formal mechanism nurturing and supporting the development of physician-scientists in academic medicine.
